Gentlemen, (and Ladies), tis the last computer you will ever need.

*blows dust off blog* Well, how have you been? If you haven’t noticed, It’s been a while. Oh right… The computer.   It’s called the Xi3 Modular. “Modular?” You ask? Why yes, it has three boards that will could probably be upgraded forever. Hmm! I like the sound of that. Oh and look, It’s so cute, cuddly, and aluminium-ey.

The tiny Xi3 Modular has one board with two AMD Athlon 64 processors and the RAM, while two I/O boards handle all connectivity and input/output requirements. They say that, by changing these boards you can “upgrade this computer forever” to save money and resources.

It’s designed to be mounted damn near everywhere too. Lets see, dual display support with 1080p DVI, VGA, HDMI, LVDS and DP output. Oh yeah, it also has 6 USB and 2 SATA ports, Xi3p as well as PCIe.

$849. Booyah.

How to save $2,000 on a Mac!

This is what you do; make the computer out of PC parts, jam it into an amazon shipping box, install Snow Leopard, and call it a day. Guess the cost. $900. Yes, $900!

Foregoing the sleek aluminum casing with the gigantic Apple logo emblazoned on the side, Kalvin used the Amazon shipping box that all the computer parts he ordered came in. While this hackintosh won’t win any beauty contests, its somewhat of an oxymoron — a high-end computer with the lowest-end exterior possible. Might we suggest you use some spare Apple stickers to decorate it?

Computer specs don’t skimp either, with a 2.66Ghz Core i5 CPU, 1TB hard drive, 8GB of 1,333Mhz DDR3 RAM and XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5 graphics. The entire thing of course runs Snow Leopard. Something tells me that Kalvin and co. won’t have any problems running challenging applications like Adobe After Effects or even playing some Portal on their new cardboard mac.

Yay fire hazard!

    It’s an iPad triple play!

    The Kensington PowerBack. It’s a case. It’s a dock. ITS A KICKSTAND.

It packs a 4400mAh battery should give you a 5-hour 1UP, and comes with a bonus microUSB charge/sync port, so you never have to remove the case (except to clean it- which you should do. Grime and stuff is bad for…well everything.) What’s more; the kickstand. It will hold your iPad up in both portrait and landscape mode. The pack? not top bulky- $130.

    Kmart; Useful after all.

This is an Android-powered netbook made by Augen. You can buy it from Kmart. The price- a scantly $190. It comes with a 10.2-inch screen, 1024×600 display and weighs 1.8lbs. It’s also got an 800MHz ARM11-based chip and a mere 256MB of RAM. There’s 2GB of storage- Wait. Did I just say 800MHz? Crap…That’s slower than the processor in my phone! No really! *pulls out $50 netbook knock off from china* I’m gonna make a note of this *notes DO NOT BUY* Right, so don’t buy this. Unless you don’t have computer money and you’re reading this blog from the library in-between your PR0N watching and your pirated-movie torrenting. Seriously. creeper. Pedobear’s coming for you!

…Or you could just buy a tablet.

Hello there, I’d be glad to overlock you.

So NVIDIA has decided to make the GTS 450.  Oh look, stuff people may not understand! (Engadget)

Say hello to NVIDIA’s GF106 core (please pretend you’ve never met before). The company’s third Fermi desktop iteration is described as “a little more than half of the GF104 implementation,” which in real terms means 192 CUDA cores versus the GTX 460’s 336, reduced memory bandwidth with a 128-bit-wide bus and a lower number of ROPs at 16. These disadvantages are ameliorated by 783MHz graphics and 1566MHz processor clock speeds as well as a much more forgiving power profile — the new GTS 450 cards will require just the one 6-pin power connector for auxiliary juice. Pricing is aimed squarely at conquering the market currently occupied by ATI’s HD 5750, which, as we saw over the weekend, plants the 450 around the $130 mark. You’ll have to read the reviews below for confirmation, but NVIDIA promises “awesome” overclocking headroom on its new card, going as far as to suggest stable 900MHz graphics clocks aren’t out of the realm of possibility.

Well, Now that all that is said and done, How do I summarize all this? Oh right- I WANT! GIMME GIMME GIMME!

    GSM Galaxy tab?

You all know the Samsung galaxy tab I posted about- It’s due to come out on Verizon. But there seems to be a GSM version, according to the FCC. What does this mean?  A Galaxy tab on every network. HOOAH!

Samsung Galaxy Tab; About freaking time

The iPad’s been on a high horse for quite a while, and it’s about time something came along to knock it down a few notches. It has two cameras (front and rear), with the rear having flash. It’s Android-based, and you can connect to the web via a 3G connection or 802.11n Wi-Fi. It can do things that the iPad can’t, like video calling, and augmented reality. Will the iPad have these things? I really hope so.
